An open-minded, modern-day tavern


Cité 9 has been part of Lens’ heritage for generations and the new hotel aims to showcase and share that heritage also via the Galibot, the modern-day tavern open to the public. The extension of the restaurant offers a lovely view over the restored workers’ gardens and the kitchens run by Chef Raynald Boucaut.

The name is a tribute to the mining life and the children who worked it. Our Chef started out young like them as a kitchen boy. Borna and raised in Lens, he puts all his skill and experience into sustainably attracting a local clientele as much as visiting tourists. He promises to surprise the former and initiate the latter.

Pour s’y tenir, il interprète avec modernité les classiques de la cuisine locale et sélectionne ses fournisseurs sur le volet. La charcuterie, les fromages, la bière, mais aussi les glaces, les thés et les cafés sont sélectionés dans un rayon de quelques kilomètres.

All the dishes are made using fresh produce only and the menu changes every day subject to deliveries.
